Some of the sites (digit, quora...) are not loading and some (google, youtube, instagram...) are loading fine and good. I tried some troubleshooting like turn off/on the modem, windows trouble shooter, assigning google dns for both IPV4 and 6, flushing dns cache, winsock reset etc. But none fixed the issue.
This issue first started about two weeks ago, called ISP they scheduled a service visit later that evening, but after few hours modem rebooted on it's own and the issue resolved, so I cancelled the visit. Few days later again the same issue, but I waited this time knowing it resolved on it's own last time after few hours. As expected it resolved on it's own after few hours.
Again after few days, same issue and I waited for few hours but this time it didn't fix on it's own, so I called customer care. They assigned service visit later that afternoon but before they come the issue resolved on it's own. But I let the come and check the connection/modem. They don't have the clue, said it could be modem firmware acting up and reset the modem. Also said if the issue continues, they have to change to modem.
Again last weekend the issue popped up waited for few hours, not fixed. Called for service visit, they came and checked. He couldn't figure out the issue, called some people to troubleshoot and one thing they found was whatismyipaddress returned "IPV4 not detected" and his manager suggested to turn off the modem for an hour and try again. When I said the last guy suggested to change the modem if it continues, but since not sure where the issue is, he can't do it. And questioned what if the issue still continues even after changing the modem.
I was asked to try using mobile data, but coz of poor network I couldn't access anything using 2G data in my system. I guess they suspect something wrong with my PC. Before closing the call and leave he sent me a list of things I could try if that didn't fix but unfortunately because of the internet issue I couldn't get that list. I asked why close the call when the issue is not fixed, he said some random things and I don't see the pointing of keeping him and he doesn't have a clue so I let him close the call. I switched off and waited for an hour but the issue still continued. I tried to contact the service guy, but he didn't pick up the call.
Issue still continued but somehow I could able to access the list he sent. I tried one by one, things like tracert, ping, ipconfig etc. and sent him the snapshot. He called and said coz manager was in the meeting, he couldn't get him. He is the one could tell a solution to this issue and said he will call later.
Later that evening issue resolved on it's own. And haven't got any calls from them.
Issue happens only at the start of the day (I mean when I switch on the modem), not in the middle when all things are working fine and good.
Before the issue resolve on it's own, modem gets rebooted automatically. Except once all the other times I noticed this.
What I can or should do next time this happens? Any troubleshooting options you can suggest would be appreciated. How to know the root cause of this issue? I mean something wrong with modem or my PC. Checked using WiFi, can't access the same sites in mobile browser as well so at this point I am assuming it's the modem, not my system. It was confirmed by service guy as he couldn't get those sites to working in his mobile phone as well.
