Software to know who's locking Ports

I tried to search this forum and google too ... but cudnt come up with a result

Is there a software which can tell me that which application is locking (ie listening on) physical ports like com/serial port, etc

Hmmm .. You can use Process Explorer for that .. Check TCP IP tab of each process to check out what port is it listening to ..

Conversly Netstat -a will do the job for you ..

wht is it about my queries that mostly only batty replies

anyways -
netstat and process explorer can give TCP/IP port ..
im asking for serial/COM port ..
that wont work here !

Oh .. Hahha .. Damn I too was wondering how can you ask such a dumb question .. Now .. That will require thinking .. Whokay .. I am on it ..

hey!! just goto control panel>system>harware>device manager..... and then just check out the ports by just right clicking and properties..... in the properties it will give the location of thw hardware...

I googled after seeing your above post. Anyway, what I would do is shoot a mail to the devlopers of the utility (Serial one) and ask if they have something for COM also (it's not there, we know) and may be they can point out to some link.
