Slow Linux??

As we all see that at the starting of Linux, it always starts many services like printing services etc.
Which takes a lot of time and create a misunderstanding that Linux is slower than Windows.
Can we stop these services from being started at the start up like we can do in Windows by Msconfig.

Yes, of-course you can. Open a terminal and type "system-config-services" if you are using Fedora and then switch off the services you dont need. For a detailed HowTo look here...

Will it work in Suse too ?
And will it increase the speed and decrease the time used in Startup??

AFAIK you will find something similar in Yast modules in Suse.
It will definitely speed up your start up time significantly....
