I am currently using Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit edition & my computer's hardware configuration is already known to many people here. I am about to upgrade to 3 GB RAM ( 1X2 GB & 1X1 GB DDR 2 800). Now 3 GB RAM will work fine with 32bit Windows but I was thinking that should I upgrade to 64bit edition of Vista? Will it give any performance benefit? I have checked compatibility & 90% of the apps & drivers I use are available in 64bit version & if not they can run in 32bit Mode.

Is there any speed & performance benefit going with 64bit vista when running with less then 4 GB RAM.?

As you got 4GB RAM then 32bit Vista is limiting the memory usage in your PC. Switch to 64bit after being sure that all of your PC components have proper 64bit drivers from their respective vendors.
