Setting up PCI-IDE configuration.

Can anyone guide me? I have a PCI-IDE (iTE 8212) Card and want to set it up in non-RAID ie IDE mode so that I can use both my IDE Hard Disks.
I want to boot from the HD connected to the RAID controller.

OS: WinXP SP3
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EG41MF-S2H
Proc: E7400 with 2GB RAM
The mobo has 1 PATA/IDE slot on which I can connect 2 IDE drives.
But I already have 2 DVD drives (which would sit in that slot).
Hence the query.

Has anyone tried this?
I have been trying to get this to work with now success.
One question, do I need to reinstall the OS? Are there any settings in BIOS that I need to change?

I have tried this:
Connected 1CDROM on Mobo-iDE and HardDisk on PCI_IDE
On BIOS I have set it to boot from HD follwed by boot from CD-ROM.
The PC boots (ie POST) followed by the it8212 screen, which shows my HD as primary master.

But it never boots from HD it just stops at booting from CD-ROM
I already have installed XP on the HD along with all the necessary drivers.
Do I need to reintall XP? How will that help?

IS there some BIOS setting that needs to be changed?

I haven't tried the reverse & I doubt its working.
U see this is a RAID controller being used as a IDE adapter.
And any RAID setup uses only hard-disks... not ROMS.... Yeah there is no harm in trying.
