I have a Samsung Sync Master 2233 21.5" monitor. I had purchased it over 5 years ago and its out of warranty. I am using the monitor with MSI R6850 Cyclone and its connected via DVI cable. I had noticed that the menu buttons didn't work properly for some time and today while in game my display started turning off and on, like display would stay on for 3 seconds and then turn off for a few then turn back on , it was not a power issue, I can see a constant power.
I tried switching between different port of the GFX card,as well as using the onboard graphics, but the issue remains the same. So its not the problem with my GFX card. I haven't yet checked with a different DVI cable. I will try to check the monitor again with a VGA cable.
The LCD itself seems to be working, the issue might be in the monitor motherboard. How much would a motherboard cost?
Anyone faced such an issue before?
I was thinking about buying a new monitor, will ask about it in a separate thread.
