Hi,

Whenever we purchase a vehicle, we pay road tax. I guess that fee is for better roads, right? If so then why the hell do they charge toll tax and that too at skyrocket prices?

Road tax goes towards city / town Road
Toll tax goes for well, highways. These are privatised under Bulid own and operate method.

There is a toll tax near our city which is like the main highway for getting out of city, for about 20 kms road they charge around 80rs. one way. The builder will suck up money for around 20-25 years. Kaash hamare gharwale builder hote.

Every city is having similar toll. Same story in #Coimbatore. They will keep increasing the toll citing inflation and all BS. They will not take in account reduced interest rates and reduce the toll.
So basically heads I win, tails you lose
