Remotely deleting WhatsApp account

Greetings everybody !
Way back I installed and made an account on WhatsApp I hated the app so I uninstalled it without deleting the account. Now I still use the same number and my friends have reported that my account still comes up I their WhatsApp list , is there a way to delete without installing WhatsApp again? If not what is the right way?
