a junior interested in buying a new laptop preferably from Dell.

1) What is your budget?

INR 50000

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Mainstream - 15" - 16" screen

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
regular office work, movie watching plus some software development

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
if possible 2 X 8 GB, SSD and latest gen processor

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Dell as used dell since 2015.

Screen resolution - 1080p (Full HD)
Battery back up - normal (3-4hrs)
Purchase place - Local and if it is not available then Online (eg - Amazon / flipkart)

Is it ok to buy a renewed laptop directly from dell which has 6 months warranty? it was also mentioned on that page to get the warranty increased to 2+ years by calling on some number - i think it is the extended warranty.

Do not buy renewed ones.

HP 14 with R5 5500U, 8GB & 512GB SSD goes for 48k, add 2nd 8GB RAM to it, should be great for 50k. Wait for upcoming sales.

You might want to shortlist from this.

K14/15 OLED series seems to have issues as almost all the current negative reviews on amazon/flipkart mention screen/touchpad issue after few weeks/months of purchase.
MSI laptops never had any good reputation regarding after sales support.
Realme laptops have yet to prove themselves.
HP I won't recommend as a matter of principle(see my sticky thread here).
That leaves only lenovo & non-oled models in asus.
