Registry ???

To edit registry...I opened registry editor...using regedit command.....
Using dis command.....editor opens...but just for 1-2 sec...after tht.....my windows restarts (VISTA)

Is dere anf registry error.......???
How can I solve dis prob...i dont want to install my OS again.....plzz

can u tell us before opening registry which s/w or h/w changes u did?
