I have just installed vista , no other software is intalled right now. Now i want to create restore point so that i can restore to this point later. My query is later if i restore my system to this point will restore only c : drive or all the other drives also. I am fearing it will not erase my important data on other drives.

One more question.. If the computer or rather the os crashes then how to get the restoration done?

It would depend on settings in your computer related to system restore. In Win XP by default this setting is enabled by default on all drives, don't know abt Vista. If you don't want to restore a particular drive then you can disable this service for that drive in "System restore settings". By doing this you can save some disk space as well on drives other than c:

SUBJECT to alloted diskspace, ur first (or any) restore point is set to delete by default only after 136 yrs. but as u keep installing and more restore points r created automatically, ur 1st and the old ones will keep getting deleted. ur data on other disks will not be lost. just MAKE SURE that u hav enabled it only for your System Disk.

if u want to keep a copy of ur brand new vista in virgin state, best to use acronis or ghost to make its copy....
