you only need the ink bottle(cots anywhere between rs 300-700) and a syringe. You use the syringe for refilling the cartidge.

A good compromise will be to use compatible cartridges which I had been using earlier for Canon in my home Epson in my office. Not sure about HP. If the print head is integrated with the cartridge, you are not likely to get a compatible one. No sure about the present scenario since both at home and office I have been using only laser for the past one and half years. (Reason - economy)

Is actually a real word..
In North America you can buy refill kits which are usually compatible with most printers (some printers use different inks, but if it is a standard HP printer should work) yeah unfortunatly HP printer cartridges have the heads on the cartridge. I know for cannon's and epsons you just have to peel back a sticker and inject the syringe (with whatever colour) in the cartrige. Lexmarks you have to drill a hole in a specifc spot on top ( I think HP is simillar) do a google search for your HP (+ series #) refill, should find some documentation on it. Yeah it is usually cheaper because you end up getting a few refills out of one bottle.

Duh just use the syringe and push the color into the cartridge from the spot where there is a pin hole available. Check the sticker thats above the cartridge i guess you have to pull the sticker up and its hidden underneath it. Be sure to have some unused piece of cloth around :D you might end up making a mess :D Mines 21 and for the black cartridge 5ml does it
