Hello everyone.
I wanted to know how can one select stereo mix as a recording source in windows vista??
In windows XP we could do it through the Volume Control. But I didnt find any such option in Vista. I Use Windows Vista Ultimate on a Dell Optiplex GX-620 desktop. It has soundmax digital audio hardware.

PS:This soundcard supports recording through Stereo mix in windows XP

It is easier in Vista! Right click on the little speaker icon in the system tray and click on the "Recording devices" option(OR, go to 'Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Sound'). In the window that appears, click on recording tab. Here, you'll find a list of all recording devices detected by the PC. Click on stereo mix and then click on the "Set Default" button.

The following won't be required most probably but anyhow:-
If you can't see the stereo mix option, right click anywhere in the window and then check the "Show Disabled Devices". Once it appears enable it.
