MY Mobo supports DDR with a 266MHz speed (FSB??). Can I use a RAM with a higher speed like 333MHZ or so? Will the RAM work even if at a lower speed?

No .. I think you cant use the higher FSB ram in motherboard.

You can put the lower freq. ram but not the higher one.

YUP... u can use 333MHz or 400MHz DDR.... but they will work on the supported speed of the Mobo... that is, 266MHz in ur case....

You can use a higher frequency ram module with the motherboard, no problem, as long as it is of the same type (DDR SDRAM or SDRAM). But you can use it only as a 266MHz Ram module. You can change the ram frequency in the bios to a higher value later, if ur bios supports such changes that is.
And Ram frequency and FSB are two different things dependednt on two different components as well.
