All MoBos with support upto DDR2 800 will support DDR2 533 and 667 also. You can verify from the info brochure of your MoBo.

yes it will support ddr 533/667 ..

any reason why you are going am2 way ? It would make more sense getting a e6300 and a msi 965 mobo

Definitely itwill going to support ddr2 533/667, it does not affect much, only smaller decrease in speed that even can not be noted by u so go for it

ok sorry got ur poin..actually its my first forum and i dunno bout these thigs.will remember later!

well sandman thanx for advising me for conroe e6300 with msi p965.the point is that my whole cpu budget is 32 k max.the few things i have finalised are:
1.512 x 2 ddr2 533mhz ram.not going in for more ram now.will go wen vista arrives. - 4.5 k
2.a decent cabbie with 400w psu - 2k
3.160gb sata hdd 7200rpm samsung - 3k
4.sony oem dvd writer - 2k
that makes 11.5 k
and remain 21.5 k for cpu+mobo+gfx card.

now i need ur help on this.i will buy my rig next month before 10th(bank's intersts i want...)
i too wanna go with conroe.they r faster.and my 3 main pc works are video editing.surfing and gamin(at max 1hr a day..but the latest games...)
..and i will overclock my pc...but at most up to 30%.
the gfx cards i have in mind are : 7300gs,7300gt,7600gs,7600gt all xfx.
processors on my mind are: x2 3800+,x2 4200+, x2 4600+ and conroe e6300.
mobo's on my mind are a decent p965 chipset or nforce 570 ultra(for both am2 and intel) or nforce 4 ultra ones(for both am2 and intel) with atleast upto 4gb expandable memory.pci-e support, sata support, ddr2 800mhz support...and some overclocking and noise reduction features.will be installing 2 more local desi fans in cabbiee...board pririty is asus 4 me ...they make good boards with good features.

plz help me out in this....really confused...
sorry and thanks for reading such a long post.

@nfsfan

1)Get one thing straight, for gaming anything below a 7600GT won't do and a 7900GT is strongly recommended.

2)E6300 and E6400 are allendale, not conroe.

3)Whether you get AMD X2 3800 or E6300 or AMD 64 3500, you won't have much of a problem playing any of todays games provided you have a good card like the 7900GT, anyway games are mostly GPU limited unless you go in for a high end card or above.

4)You can't decide your overclocks like that. If you get AMD 64 3500 Venice, you will probably be able to achieve a 20% overclock or lower @ stock cooling. If you get AMD X2 3800, things may or may not be the same depending upon your chip, you may find somebody taking the X2 2GHz to 2.7 at stock while some other might not even do 2.3!
If you get E6300 with a good overclockable motherboard and RAM which doesn't bottleneck you, then you can easily to 2.8-3.0GHz or more, though you might need some after market cooling.

5)Get DDR2 667, isn't that expensive.

6)Please tell everybody the rig that I suggested you so that people just make changes to it rather than thinking everything all over again. I doubt you will get a better rig than that though, but it is better to post it here. It was from udit's rig that I suggested mine as it was.
