R5 and R7 are series of CPUs, not just a single SKU. Can't recommend one over other before knowing the requirements. Some newer R5 CPUs are similar to or even better than some older R7 CPUs.

If you have money to spare &/or do CPU intensive tasks like video editing, rendering, etc, get R7 3700X over R5 3600.
