The Inquirer.net reported some details on the R520 (which, if some of you didn't know, if kicknamed "Fudo" - funny like the R420 was called "Loki"). This card will first appear sometime in Q1 2005, approximately an year after the R420's initial release.
Here's a jist of the features (from Inq and some other sites) :-
Shader Model 3.0+ (NOT 4.0)
300 million transistors
512-bit bus
512MB of GDDR3 RAM clocked at 700 MHz DDR (that's 1.4 GHz effective)
FP32 only (no FP16 or FP24 - nVIDIA... sheesh... )
Speculation suggests that the card will have 24 or more pixel pipelines and perhaps 12 vertex shader pipelines. Will perhaps be the first VPU to push over 1 billion vertices per second.
I can't wait to get this baby under my hood.
