Question regarding fitting a Ryzen 5 5600x on a 5 year old B350M

My motherboard is GA-AB350M-D3H *www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350M-D3H-rev-10#kf .Upgraded the BIOS to support 5000 series CPUs (AMD AGESA V2 1.2.0.7)
My PSU is Antec VP 500PC
My GPU is GTX 1070
My current CPU is Ryzen 5 1500x

Problem is, on Reddit, some people said that the VRMs of the B350s are not good and that it will not be able to handle a 5600x.

However, I checked the TDP of the 5600x, and it's the same as my 1500x (65W). So technically it should work fine, right? Or is it that Zen3 needs a very good VRM?

What is the best CPU I can purchase that can be handled by my Motherboard VRMs and PSU? I don't wanna spend more than 20k as of now. Should I play safe and get the Ryzen 5 5500? The 5500 is 65W too but it's Zen2+ so I assume it will be less taxing on the VRM. I feel the 5600x can last me another year or two. My current 1500x is showing its age. Lots of stuttering in Uncharted 4 (PC)

Or, shall I wait for Intel 13400 /13500 release and go straight for a full upgrade? I don't mind spending big on a new CPU, Mobo, and PSU ( under Rs50k) as long as it can last me another 5 years.

VRMs of B350 are not great - true.

Can it handle 5600X for gaming? - Definitely yes. Games don't push CPU to 100% usage generally, you have a 1070, so 5600X won't be pushed to its limits. You will see some improvements, esp on 1% low fps with the CPU upgrade. But you will be held back a bit by RAM.

What's your RAM?

Even if it is like DDR4 2666MHz, you can still make the PC run well for another 2 years, then maybe look for a complete upgrade.

R5 5500 is not worth it IMO. R5 5600 or 5600X is the way to go.

I have recently updated to 5600x from 2200g on Gigabyte AB350M-Gaming 3 motherboard.

What is your current BIOS version? I felt updating the bios was only difficult part after buying CPU.

If you have any specific questions please ask. I will try to answer.
