That's true. Quadro design is meant for real time, multiple view port rendering, usually seen in 3D and CAD apps like 3DS MAX, MAYA and Blender. Quadro cards are so pricey because of the quality of their manufacturing and after sales support. High-end Quadro cards give you the freedom of customization for your application.
The price is also due to the relatively small buyer pool.
With a Quadro you can smoothly design a complex 3D scene with Active Shader Turned On in Multiple View Ports, which is not possible, even with the best Gaming card.
Simply - Nvidia's Quadro Cards are for Designing Games and GeForce Cards are for Playing Games.
