Quad core processors vs dual cores for Gaming System

Hi all,

I'm just about to upgrade my system and as I am moving on I'm facing some issues about choosing stuffs . Need your help guys

When one is upgrading/buying a new system for gaming purpose, what should one focus on in between a good processor or a GPU (graphics card) ?

If I am using a good graphics card, then does it matter whether I'm using a quad core processor or dual core ?

If I am using a good GPU(graphics card) then should I consider a processor having a GPU embedded inside it ?

In case of monitors apart from the response time, what are the other factors that matters most for a gaming system ?

Fill it. we will suggest a good config. both processor and GPU in gaming system are equally important.

Processor should be fast enough so that the gpu is not bottlenecked. some gamez depend more in cpu then gpu whereas some are opposite.
