processor and motheboard problem

I recently puchased a intel dual core 1.60 processor and intel D 102 motherboard. when i start it ,it can not produce any activity. even though light of mother board is on an cpu far run .
please tell me is D102 support this processor.
motherbords socket and processor socket is same(LGA 775).
my friend have core two duo 2.8 on D102 which runs perfectly.:sad:

is he is clear.
please tell me any one instead of this board what board in 945 chipset with integerated graphics is best. and it also have a PCI e slot.

You should have enquired before purchasing the board.Your dealer is right....D102 doesn't support C2D's or Dual cores,at least that's what the processor compatibility list for the board suggests.Your friend probably has a pentiumD and not a C2D.

For a 945 based board get the Asus P5GC-MX.Get the latest revision which supports 1066FSB(OC'able to 1333).The older ones I suppose were limited to 800fsb.
