dig_boy_dig,dig !
Today evening when I switch on my system during booting it shows "CMOS check sum errors", I press F1 to continue, and the computer starts fine. After a few second a msg pop-up says kaspersky antivirus trial period over, purchase licence key. Immediately I cant understand how it is possible because I installed KAV on 31/08/07, than I understand that my system date is wrong. I rectified the date, but KAV not rectified, it is still showing out of date. Then I uninstall KAV, and reinstall it, but the problem is not solved. Is there any way to reactivate KAV for the balance period of 24 days.

i dont think chaging d battery or re-installin it will hellp

C
wen u got d first CMOS error, d BIOS d8 was changed to its factory deafult
and u still went ahed and booted meaning KAV was also loaded, wen KAV checks d existing system d8 wit d d8 wen it was installed, it thinks dat u r trying sumthin fishy with d sw (and sine u from Assam it nkow u have access to lots of fishes ;) )

KAV has already made a registry entry regarding d d8 confusion and will now assume u r tryin to use KAV beyond d 30 day period

now ur options

1. Find dat entry and delete/modify it (ROFL)

2. Format HDD re-install OS+KAV (recommended)

Anyone here could have worked that out, strangely enough....

CMOS checksum error is usually a sign of dying battery. So better get a new battery. For the KAV issue you can try emailing those guys. They will be able to help u best,I think.

Wire muncher!
Please try this:

1. Download KisKav6Remove.zip & .Regsupreme (install this one) and a new installer *www.kaspersky.com/productupdates?chapter=186437046.

2. Make a folder called Kav 6.0 on the desktop and unzip KisKavRemove into this,, then uninstall Kaspersky, reboot into safemode and run the tool (doubleclick on "avp_remove.cmd" for the 6.0 tool). Only works if installed in the default c:\ location with windows!.

Now i would run the trial of Regsupreme, run it (use normalmode only, not aggressive), when finished scanning you rightclick and select "All", then you click "Fix" at the bottom, it will ask you if you wish to make a backup and you do, just to be safe.

3. Now boot into normalmode and install Kaspersky again.

from kaspersky forums.

download your uninstaller or total uninstaller.

and reinstall KAV thru this softwares, it will show all the registry changes done before & after installing KAV, so now u can easily identity which all registry entries to remove after uninstalling KAV.

actually this is availabie in either of one software, check both of them.

Mujhe isme se piracy ki badboo aa rahi hai. M i right

not really

if u mess with d system d8 after a 30-day trial sw is installed, den it is quite natural 4 d sw to stop working

bcos d sw is expected to work on thet computer only 4 30 days after install, so if d d8 suddenly changes back by sum days/months/years its own time tracker gets messed up and so it refuses to work any more thinking sum 1 is trying to tampre wid d 30-day trial version
