I am facing a display problem of text but my image are great but little stretched or say wide. I am using 1024 X 768 resolution but the exact resolution is 1400 X 900. My motherboard is MSI VIA K8M800_CE + VT8237R Chipset with Via/S3G Unichrome Pro IGP.
So what to do, if i install a extra Graphic card the problem can be solved.

No pain....No gain
Update the gfx driver and the lcd are meant to be used at their native resolution, that's why the text seems to be stretched. Else install a gfx card, ur mobo has AGP 8X. Is this your mobo *global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1104&maincat_no=1

I think it's only a problem with resolution. Set it to it's natvie resolution. You will lose lot of detail if you set it to non-native resolutions.

mobo = motherboard
GPU = Graphic Processing Unit aka graphic card

The only choice it seems is to get a gfx card. Get some low-end geforce 8 series card (8400gs or 8600gt etc.) cost would be around 2-5k.

Thanks, but you are sure that i will get the correct resolution 1440 X 900 and at the same time my text will not get spoiled.

What will be the price of a Motherboard + Ram + Processor which could support my Sumsung 19" widescreen monitor.Should be the cheapest because you know i will upgrade.

Most intel/nvidia/ati onboard gfx controller (say 2 years old) support 1440*900 resolution. Donno why, yours isn't?
Anyways, if you are thinking of an upgrade then tell us ur budget.
