Hi, I am using Linksys ADSL AM300 modem to connect to BSNL Dataone. I want to use OpenDNS for DNS Servers. I tried the method described on OpenDNS website and changed all the settings as follows:

1. Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
2. Click Network Connections from the Control Panel choices.
3. Choose your connection from the Network Connections window.
4. Click Properties button.
5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
6. Click the radio button Use the following DNS server addresses and type in OpenDNS addresses in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server fields.

I typed

208.67.222.222 (Preferred DNS server)
208.67.220.220 (Alternate DNS)

Still when I log into OpenDNS Account I get error Your current IP is 117.194.65.89, but it's not using OpenDNS.

following are ipconfig details:

Hi,

It sounds like your ISP may be blocking third-party DNS servers. Have you tried setting it up locally on your computer instead of the router? Try that. If you continue to have trouble please contact us at *www.opendns.com/support/contact/

We are happy to help!

Daniel
