As I mentioned in my previous thread, I bought a 2GB Kingston mmc for N70.

I at last found a card reader working with this card and then used it to copy the data from my previous card to my new card but now the problem is that when I try to open menu of my phone...it doesn't open.

I can open gallery, contacts, calendar, notes and listen to music without any problems (which means card is working?) as they are available on-screen but I can't open the menu.

It seems that while copying system files from one card to the other one...some permissions are getting messed up. Can someone please tell me how to keep the permissions and date/time of files intact while copying them to the new card i.e. in this way

Old Card --> Hard Disk --> New Card

TIA

Use "Content Copier" provided in the Nokia PC Suite and backup all files and settings. Insert new card and restore those which you want.

Are you kidding me? Don't you think that would be the first thing I would've tried? If it would have been that easy I would not have been hitting my head all along with card readers and stuff.

Buddy...it is not so simple...when you backup using content copier...it doesn't backup your "system" directory which incidentally is very important.
