Should've filled this (Asking for new PC help? ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FIRST) before buying anything.

@gta5
What is sli?

it is better to go with a single gpu .. sli/crossfire is highly dependant on per game basis , otheriwse you may experience microstuttering or gpu scaling may be poor and not worth it..

reasearch more on this with newer games that you are looking to play..

what is your budget ?

if you can wait approx 2 months you can save Rs 5000 on motherboard

I googled yesterday and it went above my head. In layman terms does it mean to combine 2xGTX 1080 gpu's like they do in gaming laptops nowadays?

SLI is older than your post suggests. There are 2-way, 3-way and even 4-way SLI supported GPUs. Also, you could get better performance using a single powerful card instead of two lower powered ones in SLI because scaling doesn't always work properly.

Thanks. Last offtopic question, the high end gaming laptops nowadays have two gpu's. What technology do they use to make them work together if not sli?

Best Power Supplies
The CX650M is among the best bang for the buck PSUs available on the market today. It offers very good performance and it is silent enough, although it could be even more silent with a lower, minimum fan speed. At its current price it is very difficult to find a better unit, covered by a hefty five-year warranty.

Shouldn't you guys be suggesting Corsair RMx series for a GTX 1070 config? The newer Corsair CX series with 5 yrs warranty is still a tier below Seasonic S12II. The Antec EAxxxG series doesn't compete either.

Budget was not mentioned by op & among the 3 options earlier suggested,I thought as seasonic S12II is already discontinued it is better to go for CX650M.Of course corsair RMx series is better but also costlier & since op is looking for "cheapest 80 plus gold psu" CX650M seems to be the only option.

seasonic si2ii has been degraded to tier 4 on linustechtips tier list.. as it does not have UVP on 12v rail, no OCP and no OTP , group regulated design , 8 years old..

PSU Tier List Updated

the only good thing it has are japanese caps and FDB fan..

the new corsair CX (not M) made by CWT ( Cx has 2 oem other is great wall ) is very good and is better than seasonic s12ii

DC-DC , good performance , all protections.. excellent price if you can get this for 3300 , rifle fan only 2 or 3 samxon/suscon/elite caps rest mostly are solid caps..

Corsair CXM and great wall CX can be argued which is better compared to seasonic depending upon what you value most.. caps vs performance + protection/safety

Considering RMx has 10 yrs warranty and Corsair's after-sales is good it's definitely cheap. And CX650M isn't gold rated.

well if budget is low .. then the best option currently is actually Corsair TXM ..

tomshardware didn't include TXM .. maybe because prices are different in USA

but in india

Tx550m and Cx 650m both are priced at Rs 5700 on vedant..

TX has gold efficiency , all japanese caps , 7 year warranty , semi modular.. it is loud though and 3.3v transient tests performance is bad but this does not have much impact.. excellent bang for buck

it beats all other psu's currently ..then next best option is RMx at 8k

^ This is the tier list i'm following made by jonnyguru himself. And jonnyguru works at Corsair now so he would have biased Corsair more.

Is that antec psu i mentioned is bad? My budget is 7k. Also i am looking forward 650w

I never used an antec psu before but pricing seems attractive. In amazon it is 6800 rs.

Compared to Corsair TXM and RMx it's a bad choice. Buying PC components from Amazon/Flipkart is usually expensive. Buy from primeabgb, mdcomputers, theitdepot, vedantcomputers, etc (shipping cost extra)
