I want PC with on-board graphic; my Budget is up to 14000/- for CPU & Mobo

I heard that AM2 has better future than 939, but it is not available (at least in Mumbai)
I have following two config in mind

Cofig 1
AMD 3800+ X2 (Socket 939) + MSI K8NGM2-FID @ 13500/-
2 × 512MB DDR 400 MHz Transcend @ 2 × 2600/-
160 or 250 Sata HDD @ 4200/-

Cofig 2
AMD 3800+ X2 (Socket AM2) + ASUS M2NPV-VM
2 × 512MB DDR2 667 or 533 MHz

pl. tell me where I can get AM2 in Mumbai ?
Also if AM2 in not available, is it good to go with 939?

Also tell me some good reliable Shops on Lamington Road, where I can buy and assemble my machine.

Well for mobo.....well there r very less options............

And check the timings of the ram..........make sure it is low latency...
coz cheap DDR2 modules have ultra-high latency!! :D

Also try and go for 667MHz (if u can afford it)...

Yes I can afford 667, but 667 has higher latency than 533…..

Transcend 512 MB DDR2-533 Mhz CL-4 @ 2100/-

Transcend 512 MB DDR2-667 Mhz CL-5 @ 2400/-

So for which I should go for…….

I know 4…5 .. CAS Latency are sill higher but…. this things are currently available…

and same case for all the available brands

Re: Pl. Help for finalizing config & tell good shop to build it….

Well........low latency memories r available from OCZ Corsair etc etc...but cost a hell!!!
Well.....latency is not the only factor...coz with a 667MHz moulule u will get more read/writes....so its worth getting 667MHz module even though it has higher latecies....
Also I think a 5CL ram will run at 4.5 or 4CL without any probs!!

I assume that you are not a gamer.

For config 1:
AMD X2 3800 + Asus A8N E which beats your duo
512mb X 2 transcend (UCCC chips)

For config 2:
No idea

For config 3:
AMD 64 3000 + Asus A8N E + good cooling
same RAM
oc to 2.4-2.8GHz.

For config 4:
Intel C2D E6300 + Asrock 775
Corsair Value Select 512mb X 2 DDR 2 667 if you have the moolah
This is the best config is terms of performance at stock, after overclocking it might fall behind by the X2 a bit, but it might stay ahead, not sure and it also depends upon the X2 oc. The asrock won't allow over 2.1GHz or so.
