Its a 2 player co-op without Mod I think. But with mod it can be easily played with 4 players as well. :)

yeah I played 2 player on local lan. But I saw 4 player party in the trailer ; I thought it must have 4 player online co-op :p

PoI is a good game. Classic dungeon hunting. But...what I realised from 3 hours of playthrough, that one has to put a lot of effort and keep enormous amount of patience to get this game to that sweet-spot of interesting-replayble.

All the traditional elements of NwN and Baldur's gate are there such as saves..hits and misses..critical properties, the calculations behind them to trigger and attributes and feats and whatnot.

But one can get frustrated and bored easily when they find that they dont really get to see all those in action unless their character is meticulously developed through story...hours are spent in specifying each and every points and skills and literally deriving some figures to exactly know what could be the outcome of the next battle.

Example : your fortitude save is not enough to sustain a knockdown from a simple bear in a cave..because..stats. You have a crush-bash-slash crit keen weapon but you are just lacking one point in str or con to have that balancing factor. Everytime you encounter, doesnt matter how many ways, you are going to spend most of your time lying on the ground.

The endurance system is downright inexplicable, confusing and irritating to have. Endurance can never ever explicitely allow your character to fall in battle in real-time. Your skill could depend on it like stamina/mana works but you cant die from not having it. Your health means that. So thats broken or bad-design.

Inventory and weapons are horrendous in first levels, you cant like what you cant see properly.

Like I said, enormous patience is required.

Not this amount. DA/Skyrim/Mass Effect/D3/TorchLight/Fable/Witcher/M&M and many more doesnt require much knowledge about how dice-rolls and saves work, the game engine handles the chance calculations , gameplay more focused on an abstraction of combat mechanics rather than an active metric.

Combat is okayish, real-time strategical decision making is enabled by allowing user to pause the game like DA, which is cool, but usage of skills and feats.. PER ENCOUNTER! is kinda super-lame :(

The game's story-telling and narrative features are artistic and awesome.
