If the password u r refering is that used to protect the document and supllied by the user, then it is stored in the document itself, might be in the header.

the login password for windows and other softwares are stored in the files having extenssions *.pwl files!
U need a software tool to decode these files known as GLIDE !
And if u want to crack the excel passwords then u must use the tool known as EXCRACK!
