 Hey I jst overclocked my A64 FX-51 to GR8 exetent ie to from 2.2Ghz to 2.8Ghz by raising HTT bus and increasing processor multiplier .
Its amazing and fantastic. But my friend GR8prash has got an Opteron processor on ASUS SK8N(I Have GIGABYTE GA-K8NNXP-940). both are based on nF3 150 and loads of OC feature.

BUT HE SAYS THAT HIS OPTERON CAN BEAT MY A64 FX-51 IN ANY BENCHMARK. IS THAT TRUE????

This boy is telling a lie A64 FX-51 is not his. He has a AMD64 FX-53 on MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM. And the PC he overclocked is of his boss!!

and yes I am tru MY OPTERON has 3 HTT bus Links instead of his boss AMD64 FX-51's one.

moreover u have ECC reg. RAM which is slower where as I have unbuffered RAM which helps in overclocking to higher extent. again i win due 2 higher HT link BUS speed ie 1000MHZ than 600MHZ of urs

HT BUS speed rarely matters as while OC u have to decrease it to 600Mhz or even less. whereas OC opteron is much easier as instead of decreasing HT bus speed all u have to do is raise HT bus voltage. moreover with 3 HT BUS 4 different controllers my opteron can easily beat out ur FX-53 as there is a separate HT bus 4 handling AGP BUS(ie GRAPHICS), Another one for storage and the third one is for RAM

First of all I disabled 'cool n quiet' from BIOS. I increased
HT(HyperTransport) Bus frequency from 200Mhz to 216Mhz,
at the same time I increased CPU multilplier from 11x to 13x
thus resulting speed was 2808Mhz(~2.8Ghz). Before OC(overclocking)
I checked the system's performance. MY boss's PC configuration is
as follws :
AMD ATHLON 64 FX-51
ASUS SK8N
2*512MB CRUCIAL BALLASTIX ECC REG. CL2.5 PC3200 DDR SDRAM
ASUS V9950/TD/256 GOLDEN SAMPLE
2* SEAGATE 80GB (7200 RPM) SATA HDD IN RAID0 CONFIGURATION
SONY DVD-WRITER DRU700
ANTEC PERFORMANCE PLUS 660 AMG

As I pushed the PC to a whopping 2.8Ghz(ie 27.27% OC). More OC
was certainly possible but due to lack of a dedicated chipset
cooler(only heatsink was there on ASUS board) and a CPU cooler
from a reputed company, I had 2 limit my OC. As a working PCI/AGP
lock was present (although nForce3 150 refernce board carried a
working PCI/AGP lock but most boards based on this chipset didn't
featured it 4 sum reason but ASUS and Gigabyte did carried) OC was
a breeze on this PC. I increased the RAM frequency as well 4 system
stability (RAM sticks are superb and remained always cool). After
overclocking CPU it was now the turn of GFX card
A the GFX card based on GeForce 5900XT had a 256-bit memory intrface
OC it was a breeze.
I pushed it from 475/895Mhz stock sppeds to 512/1000Mhz. It became even
better than a GeForce 5950XT(clocked at stock speeds). ASUS SmartDoctor
enabled me to keep an eye on temperature and it was the ony tool I used
4 OC. ASUS must be praised 4 its brilliant cooling solutions on cards.

Hey I jst overclocked my A64 FX-51 to GR8 exetent ie to from 2.2Ghz to 2.8Ghz by raising HTT bus and increasing processor multiplier .

No need to increase Vcore & VDimm ?
What about chipset cooling ?

moreover u have ECC reg. RAM which is slower where as I have unbuffered RAM which helps in overclocking to higher extent.

Doesntthe 940Pin Athlon FX require ECC DDR too??

I increased the RAM frequency as well 4 system

How was that done? wasnt your RAM running synchronous with the Bus?
are there options to increase RAm speed by small steps of1-5MHz inthe BIOS? or is there a FSB/RAM Ratio option in the BIOS?

I pushed it from 475/895Mhz stock sppeds to 512/1000Mhz. It became even
better than a GeForce 5950XT(clocked at stock speeds).

I dont think there even exists a chipset called 5950 XT,does it?

Why dont you twogreat overclockers post screenshots of your achievements? Otherwise it is hard to believe your claims.
Also, what cooling did you use for your overclocking?
