Recently i installed windows 2000 professional on my old comp. It worked fine in the begining but after i downloaded and installed its service pack 4 it has slowed down tremendously so i uninstalled it but it didnt help either, what should i do??
reinstalling win2000 will be better choice, but if you update service pack, the same problem will arise. if your are not using win2000 for net connection, no need to update service pack.
since it has slowed down tremedously it might be due to a virus .. if u dont have an antivirus installed , install it immediately . if u have a virus scanner installed then update it wid latest definitions .. is ur comp taking longer time to bootup also ??? if yes then it might be due to a bootsector virus .. in that can u have to reformat ur comp
