operating system and compilation

i want to know that ...what iz d role of OS in compilation..and wht abt d kernels...wht do they do in dis process..????...howz compilation happening in mobiles..??

Be more specific. Compiling of what? code? Kernels dont do anything there, its the compiler that does the job. Kernel is just for providing all the services required for the program (in this case the compiler and the compiled program when it runs)

OS / kernel provides the required services / environment for compilation. Nothing more that that. Rest all the work is done by compiler (like GCC).

And sorry... I don't know about Compilation in Mobiles.
