1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
Rs.45k (extendable for battery hours )

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

  • Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
1. Ms-Word and Ms-Excel
2. Web browsing
3. HD Video watching

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
A laptop without heating issues and must have battery backup atleast 6 hours (when HD movie watching in netflix)

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

A brand with 2 years full warranty

6) Anything else you would like to say?
  • Screen resolution ( 1080p (Full HD) )
  • Battery back up ( extended (6-8hrs) )
  • Purchase place (BOTH )

My main areas of consideration is Battery backup, less heat and less weight. Performance is not that much concern since buying for office document typing use ). The main thing is battery backup since documents typing is mission critical one

Don't even consider Intel options, unless it has a huge 80Wh battery or so, almost non-existent. Most laptops have 45Wh battery at this price.

Maybe consider one of these:

I think both have TN panels.

Does both of them have good viewing angles to watch movies ?

Similar enough among whichever Ryzen 5000 laptop you choose. Intel will be a downgrade unless it has larger battery.
Hi @omega44-xt , it have been a while

I decided to buy it tomorrow

Since 3 months passed, still is it a good buy as per my a above mentioned needs ?

Or any updates thereafter?

Can consider this, use auto-hide taskbar & screensaver to prevent burn in of OLED:
ASUS VivoBook K15 OLED (2022) Ryzen 5 Hexa Core AMD R5-5500U - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 11 Home) KM513UA-L511WS Thin and Light Laptop Rs.80990 Price in India - Buy ASUS VivoBook K15 OLED (2022) Ryzen 5 Hexa Core AMD R5-5500U - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 11 Home) KM513UA-L511WS Thin and Light Laptop Hearty Gold Online - ASUS : Flipkart.com

or this with extra 8GB RAM later:

Thanks

But I heard some burn-in issues in OLED with many such, those who use a single software with a single screen always, the icons burn-in.

The buyer going to use 80 % MS Office only, So I think colour reproduction is not much needed

Apart from display and RAM, does these any advantages over that HP one?

Thanks

Bigger display size & likely better built than unnamed HP laptop.

@omega44-xt @Nerevarine

Is this till a good buy *amzn.eu/d/cLxUZEK ? any 16GB available ?

Are any updates for my need since more than 1 year passed? (budget is 50k, IPS panel, 16GB RAM , rest are same as above)
Companies are increasing prices of laptops, so nothing major has changed. Prices have fallen a bit vs non sale rates.

That laptop with 16GB RAM was at those prices during Durga Puja sale in Oct. It has a free RAM slot, so can just add more RAM, maybe even if a 16GB stick to make it 24GB if you fancy it.

This ThinkPad is nice if you want a well built laptop:

@omega44-xt

Thanks. I think I go with my selection HP Laptop 14s fq1092AU (amzn.eu/d/cLxUZEK) since it costs 42k which within my budget and also has emtpy RAM slot and it's IPS

Any notable shortcoming in this model which I need to take in account before buying ?
