No sound after update

Hi,

Windows 10 updated to the latest version, this one Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting , there was a gpu update as well, this one Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting , but after this the lappy has been left with no sound. No sound in YT videos. I use mpc for video files, if I open any movie mpc like hangs for 2-4 or maybe more minutes and then plays video without the sound. I have to close it if it takes more than that time. Ran the audio troubleshooter but it kept on loading and loading so I closed it. What should I do?

Thanks

Rollback driver if possible(option in device manager, same place as update driver),you can also try reset/refresh.

Also block driver updates:

Just started the pc, and the sound output was gone for few minutes and then it came back

The same thing happened yesterday also. If I click on troubleshoot it keeps on loading and loading. Driver rollback option cannot be selected unfortunately. I think problem is more than the drivers as the videos take a ton of time to start and they they either lag or hang in mpc. Moreover many apps are hanging or either they stop responding after a bit including browsers FF, Edge etc.
I cannot format anything. Please advice.

If I uninstall the two updates installed yesterday, then will it delete anything?

^^he doesn't need to delete win 10 april update, issue seems to be with KB4284848 which updates win 10 build to 17134.137 & as per some reports it is such a major update that it basically rewrites system32 folder.

@billubakra uninstall KB4284848 & see if it solves the issue.Be sure to disconnect net access during/after uninstalling this update to test if it solves the issue.

You are using win 10 pro correct?Have you tried the driver update block link I posted earlier?
Home, preinstalled in laptop. No, because it is not a driver update but a Windows update as a whole which it is again auto downloading.
Anyone else got the same update from Windows?

This is a build upgrade so everyone will eventually get it,from what I have seen online this is a major update & causing issues for some people.Driver updates are included in cumulative updates so using that way it should be possible to install an update skipping driver update parts. However it needs group policy which home version doesn't have.
