No Aero___errr

i have got a ibm laptop with 512mb ram
and a 915 mobo


i installed vista ultimate in it but there is no aero effect as it does not show gaming drivers

i dont have a external card but my frnd also uses vista on same config
the windows installed deivers on its own can i share graphics and how

Well you can force aero to work with the follwing hack...Onboard GFX are not enuf for Vista...

1/ Ensure that you have the following registry value set to :

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\Composition set to 1 (32-bit DWORD)

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\CompositionPolicy set to 2 (32-bit DWORD)

2/ Restart DWM by opening a command prompt with administrative privileges :

- Type 'net stop uxsms'
- Then 'net start uxsms'

This used to work for releases beta 2 and previous, but this problem has been sorted our by MS in the final release.

Aero does not work on 915 because 915 is not capable of Aero effects because of its hardware.

Previously, Intel had promised WDDM drivers for 915 too, but later on they had to admit that it will not be possible as 915 is limited by its hardware capabilities in supporting Aero.

SO no Aero for you dude.

It works on final release with hardware which is Aero compatible. It does not work on Non Aero compatible hardware.
