New to the forum and hope you will help me out.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A:1)Multi-tasking
2) gaming( but not so hardcore)
3) watching HD movies/blu-ray
4) Some software utilization but not so heavy. (Normal softwares)
5) 12 hours usage, should be giving decent power efficiency but not the worst.
2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A:Yes, truly.
3. What is your MAX budget?
A: 50,000 INR ( can be exceeded by few thousands)
4. Planning to overclock?
A: No, I've no idea in it. Most likely to screw it up.
5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Windows 7 64 BIT
6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 1TB to 2TB( depends on budget)
7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
Aesktop- 1920 x 1080
Gaming- 1920 x 1080 ( or lesser to enable the games to play smoothly).
Plz suggest a good LCD of 22 inch, I am thinking of BenQ currently.
I play games like GTA4, BC2, saboteur, Napolean: Total war, COD MW2,
Arkham Asylum, Assasin's creed 2, Ashes09, NFS, Star wars series. LOTR series.
8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A:6
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: No. First time
10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: Next month. (first week)
11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A: Yes, mostly will upgrade some components in the distant future.
12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: Yes, Keyboard and mouse and speakers. Rest all I want including UPS
13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A:Will buy from local dealer who is also a friend. (mangalore)
14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Mainly, let tell something about myself, I am a blogger. I will be using my system for atleast half a day and need a peaceful quiet processor but also powerful- performance wise because I will be using FireFox with nearly 15-20 tabs open, Office2010, some softwares like winRAR or winZIP, Vuze, BitTorrent, screen shot software in the background along with some 10 windows open. Suggest a good PSU. I do blogging and writing work most of the times, But when I am done, Want to play some games rather than sulk around.
I am open to both amd/intel rigs. Need good GPU also.
Hope you gimme good suggestions.
