1. Budget?

20-40k - only if good.

2. Display type and size? -

27 inch 1440p

3. What will the TV/monitor be used for primarily?

Gaming, Work, Media consumption, Browsing

4. Types and number of ports required?

USB hub/KVM switch is a plus but not required if a better panel is available

5. Preferred choice of brand? -

Samsung for it's +2 years extended warranty, but no other preference.

6. Any TV/monitor in consideration?

Samsung Odyssey G5 - for +2 years extended warranty
Gigabyte M27Q ver 2.0 (but reviews say its worse than v1.0)

Acer Nitro Xv272U V3 - for cheapest price

7. Any other info that you want to share.

I know miniLED monitors are not available here and the only option that's available from acer is a crap monitor. But would be good to have an actual upgrade. My past monitors were LG27UK850 (4k 60hz IPS panel) and Gigabyte G27Q (1440p 144hz panel).

Seems like India is like a dumping ground for panels, with options that are 3-5 years old.

Acer Nitro XV272U V3 - good panel at cheap price.

G5 is VA, so generally has worse response times than IPS panels (there are few good VA panels, this one seems ok if I have linked the correct one).

M27Q rev 2.0 has inferior response times than rev 1.0 but it is in line with most other budget IPS options including Acer. It is RGB vs BGR sub pixel of rev 1.0. If you need KVM, not bad at 20k.

Honestly I was surprised to find better refresh rate compliance on G5 than M27Q rev 2.0. My Asus TUF VG27AQL1A has similar refresh rate compliance to the M27Q rev 2.0 & I am fine with it. I play CoD at 130fps on it these days.

I think this is IPS, this is a newer model that launched in september 2024.

I believe this is the same monitor which mostly matches the product code. And it seems higher rated than the Gigabyte M27Q v2.

But I think all three are basically the same in terms of color repro. If thats the case, id rather pay some extra and get samsung's +2 years extra warranty which could be useful. What do you think ?

Total cost?

I don't feel the 2 extra years of warranty is worth spending 6k+ extra over Acer. IMO you need a good mini LED or OLED to see a noticeable improvement over that Acer one.

I hope OLED monitor prices become more reasonable in a year or two. Best price right now is already as low as 55k.

Do you think it's worth waiting ? I'm not in a hurry anyway, I wanted my next upgrade to be meaningful, either OLED or atleast miniLED.

If this was samsung's model with +2 years warranty, I wouldnt mind purchasing an OLED monitor at this price.

Really damn wished AOC launched their mini led lineup in india. Its got good reviews across both Monitors Unboxed and RTINGs.
