Your info is outdated, currently gigabyte comes behind msi & asus(in that order) for ryzen mobos. MSI B450 gaming pro carbon ac is the best ryzen mobo under 15k because of its VRMs.
Asrock is pretty good for Ryzen. But I dunno about the service in India.

Yes,asrock is good but most ppl here don't know much about it so I usually recommend msi or asus. Its after sales service is now handled by Inspirisys Solutions(formerly accel frontline).

I bought an Asrock Mobo in 2012 for my i5 3570k but when it's VRM heatsink broke they did not honour the warranty but told me to use glue instead to stick it and so I did.
After my DIY technique worked and there was no problem at all until I sold it to another member from other forum.

That was 6 years ago(don't know which agency was handling asrock rma back then) & "broken heatsink" will come under physical damage which no warranty covers.

I suggest getting a single 16gb stick instead of 8gb*2 as your usage may need 32gb in future & 2*16gb performs better than 4*8gb ram on ryzen. Also for the same price of samsung 970 evo 250gb you can get 860 evo 500gb sata ssd, unless you can significantly notice the improvement of NVMe in your usage scenario 500gb 860 evo seems better option.

Thank you. I will be going with one 16GB stick and will add another later. I am increasing my budget to get ryzen 2700x, could you please suggest a good motherboard?

For anything less than 14-15k,MSI B450 gaming pro carbon ac is the best ryzen mobo.Btw ram prices are going down slowly but steadily so keep checking primeabgb, mdcomputers & vedantcomputers sites.Aim for at least 3000mhz ram.

is it compatible with ryzen?

There is no "ryzen compatible" ram, either a ram will work with a particular processor+mobo+bios version or won't. Also anything above 2666mhz(for ryzen 1st gen) for ram is OC & it may or may not work above that depending on your "processor lottery",mobo & bios version. Gskill Trident Z brand is usually considered a bit better for ryzen so it should work fine & may even reach its stated 3200mhz speed.

If you want to save some money & don't like rgb on ram then this is a good option:
Buy Online | Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory HX432C18FB/16 | Price in India

I need to learn a lot. Thanks

Will check. What do you mean by "processor lottery"? Aren't all products same?

"Processor lottery" is used with respect to overclockable processors. It basically means that not all overclockable processors are build same, some overclock more while some overclock less. All have same base level performance which is obvious as you are paying for that as stated in product description but overclock is getting performance beyond stated capability which is not fix & is not guaranteed(if is kind of like those "upto 100%" cashback offers, you may get Rs.2 or you may get Rs.200 depending on your luck but you can't say I must get Rs.200).

If the processor you get has low overclock potential then running ram beyond 2666mhz(officially supported max ram frequency on current ryzen processors) may not work as overclocking ram also means indirectly overclocking processor.Mobo bios also plays an important role as it directly controls interaction of ram & processor. That is why earliest bios on ryzen mobos have lots of issues with running any ram above 2400mhz but now-a-days it seems reaching 3200mhz is not that difficult(assuming you are not so unlucky to get a very low overclocking potential ryzen processor).

Recommend you go dual channel instead of a single 16gb stick.

benchmark seems anomalous but dual channel is always better even if 1k-2k extra cost.

Go for 8x4 configuration if you are planning to go for a total of 32 in future.

^^4*8gb ram configuration can at max run at 2133mhz on ryzen platform & it has stability issues too depending on mobo/bios.Dual channel ram matter much more for APU(aka ryzen G processors) & won't have any significant impact with normal ryzen processors. Dual channel ram increases bandwidth but that only comes into play if processor is still able to utilize it.In other words where your processor/gfx card is the bottleneck, you won't see much benefit(& with a gtx960 it will certainly be a bottleneck).

Dual channel 2133mhz can beat out single channel 3200mhz on a Ryzen 1700, and in OP's case, similar gains should be expected on 2700x, even more so, as RAM wont be a bottleneck to CPU anymore.
I agree OP's case is GPU bottlenecked but anyway I wasnt aware that ryzen cant run at 4x8 @ higher mhz. If that is the case 16x2 @3000 mhz should be the norm.

There are few tasks where ram can be a bottleneck to a good processor(like gaming with a card like 1080) but in most other cases it will be either cpu or gpu which will be a bottleneck.Since ram prices are going down slowly anyway so no need to buy dual channel currently unless absolutely necessary. Of course this is only for normal ryzen processors & typical tasks.

I checked again my GPU and it is GTX 970 4GB DDR5. Still not better than new GPUs but it is working great with new games.
