Hi,
After 8 long years, my computer has finally gone kaput. so guys, please help me out. your help will be much appreciated.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:Playing Counter Strike : Global Offensive, Dota2, FIFA (latest after building the computer), Photoshop.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: up to Rs. 50k
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: maybe
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 8.1
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 2tb
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: I dont want to buy a monitor, will later upgrade it.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: All new components
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: as soon as possible
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I will try to do it else a friend will help me out.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: open to both
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I have looked down other threads and from all of them, I have tried to build a configuration which is as follows:
Processor -Intel Core i5 4690k or AMD Bulldozer 8350
Motherboard -Gigabyte B85m D3h or Gigabyte 970 A
Memory -Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1600MHz ,
Graphics Card - ATI R9 Dual-X 270x, (please suggest manufacturer)
Cabinet - Cooler Master HAF 922
Internal Storage - 2TB ( Please suggest model and manufacturer)
PSU -Corsair CX600.
What do you think guys? Can it be done under Rs. 50k? Is it a good configuration? Please do throw in your suggestions as I will be making the purchase very soon.
I request all of you to Please share your views on following points as well:-
a) Does Gigabyte B85m D3h allow over clocking? Because there are two differing views about this when I searched the answer on-line.
b) I don't want to over clock the above processor at present. But if in future I over clock it, will the stock cooler be able to handle the excess heat?
c) My dealer is quoting approx Rs. 65000/- for a similar configuration. At Cost to Cost (Nehru Place, New Delhi), the above configuration is within my budget. But after reading many stories where C2C has conned many people, I am confused as to what to do. Is there any other trustworthy dealer in Nehru place?? or do you happen to know any dealer which maybe is closer to my place (dwarka delhi)
Thanks and regards.
