Hello everyone,

Im looking specifically for a qwerty smartphone for my brother for ~10k as he uses somewhat roughly, and the phone might be comparatively rugged than a full touchscreen.

My Parameters-

Budget- ~10k

Type- Full QWERTY

Brand- Only International brands.

OS- Anything with a nice UI and that support current apps (not games). Android or Windows would be good.

Processor- Preferably 1GHz, but not essential (800 MHz should be good too- Ive used a Samsung Pro B7510 earlier)

Screen Size- ~3inches

Screen resolution- Bright and crisp display.

RAM- Decent enough for day to day tasks, with no lag.

Internal Memory- Essentially around 1Gb. If not, then OS must allow apps to be installed onto memory card

Camera- Nice (flash would be great)

battery- Should last a whole day on normal use.

Other Features (essential)- WiFI, 3g, GPS

Other Features (not an absolute)- Secondary Camera, Good music player.

Models considered-

Here's what i found out-
HTC chacha-
pros- good display, nice UI, primary 5mp camera with flash, sec camera.
cons- Very low 'true internal memory (can hardly install apps)

Samsung Galaxy Pro B7510-
Pros- Good Keypad, Android, Notification keys for Wifi
Cons- Outdated. Poor Display (comparatively), 3.2 mp without flash, Expensive at current rates (Available for around 8-9k)

Nokia Asha 302-
Pros- 1 GHz processor, Sturdy look,
Cons-3.2 mp camera without flash, symbain OS.

I was really narrowing down to HTC Chacha, but when i read the installing issues of apps on to memory card and hardly any 'user' available memory, im really confused now.
Also, other options are welcome, if any.

Kindly also name the website if you quote the price.

Thanks a lot. Your comments would be of real help.

yeah, curve is gud....but then again one will have to shell out around 400rs per month to enjoy most of the internet services...

i considered bb chat too, but the specs seem old.

any other option, guys?

Nokia Asha 302 is a decent , economic choice. Its camera is 3.2 MP but it takes decent photos, a plus point if photography is not your passion.
BB Curve 9220 is also a good phone , however, I found it a bit small & a little too complex to get around basic things like Text messaging & it only has a 2 MP camera (no flash obviously).
Nokia 302 (without Asha) is also a good choice although I don't know whether it is available. But I have used it & found this actually better than the Asha one.
