Need to buy a laptop within 48k-55k budget

1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
My Budget is 48000 - 55000 INR

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
I am looking for thin, lightweight but standard screen size laptop. Preferably 13" or 14". 12" seems way too smaller. Also weight is a matter since I travel a lot so carrying it should not be a hassle.

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
Mostly general purpose -
Web browsing,
Skype,
a little bit of programming tasks,
Netbeans,
Watching Movies,
some descent gaming - Arkham Asylum, Sniper Elite, Far Cry etc. that too on medium settings

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
I prefer using intel i5 instead of i3. Strictly don't need DVD drive due to bulkiness, Slim laptop is highly preferred. Something along the lines of Mac Air ( Don't mind if Mac Air falls under this price range  ). Strictly don't want touchscreen.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
The only thing to like is After Sales Support. So suggest those brands which have descent After Sales Service in my region a.k.a. Chandigarh

6) Anything else you would like to say?
- Should I opt for a laptop with or without dedicated GPU - since gaming is only my secondary concern and Intel onboard graphics have also improved a lot these days. I highly prefer lightweight laptop so I can suffice without a dedicated GPU.
- But movies watching should be descent, the screen angles should show videos perfectly. If full-HD can be purchased within my budget then I will like to go with that, Otherwise 720p will work for me.
- I want a laptop which doesn't have heating issues, since I use laptop on my lap a lot actually and don't want to burn my thighs

If you are aiming for gaming scenario on a bigger scale go for Z50 hd model with 840m

SaiyanGoku, thanks for suggesting Lenovo z50 but I looked and it is 15" which will be bulky for my use case. I have mentioned that I prefer 14" or 13" so that's something I'd like to go with.

If you want that small laptop, you'll have to forget about gaming in your budget. You'll be literally wasting that 55k on a not so powerful 13-14" laptop. You can buy laptops half that price which can fulfil your needs except for FHD screen and gaming. Gaming on iGPU, don't even ask

And about z50 being "bulky" at 2.4 kgs, let me tell you kids take more than 3-4 kgs to school/coaching daily.

Cooldown guys! Thanks for mentioning that beauty Razor Blade is!!:-D Hope maybe next time!
SaiyanGoku For now my priority is work and stuff with portability. So gaming is not at all that important. That's why I mentioned only a handful of titles and that too on medium settings. As far as I've heard, Intel 4000 series GPUs work okayish with the mentioned games.

But playing HD videos is essential, as I have to prepare some video presentations for work which are also in high quality, that's why descent HD videos support is a must.

My friend already owns a Lenovo Flex 14" which weighs in at 2.5kg, isn't there anything lighter than that available in the market? Or any upcoming laptops within next few weeks which maybe lighter - I've heard good things about Dell XPS 13 2015 edition.

Look at the light Thinkpad series. Reliable as hell and tough as nails.
