Need to buy a camera within 5,000

Hi Friends, I am a new member to this forum. I want to buy a budget camera within 5,000 for my friend. I am shortlisted two models.
1. Canon Powershot A1200
2. Nikon Coolpix L25
I am getting these two for about 3,500 with two chargeable batteries, a charger,a 4gb memory card.Which of these do you guys suggest more and if there is any other camera better than these two can anyone please suggest me?

Between between these two A1200 is better.

I would recommend the Canon Powershot A810 as it has good image and video recording capabilities and its also supported by CHDK. You can get it locally for about 4.8k with Charger and Rechargeable Batteries.
