Need reliable mobile phone under 17k

Looking for a reliable phone with decent speed and good storage for my father.
He will primarily use it for WhatsApp , youtube and other regular calling stuffs .
Any brand should be fine

Above that my recommendations are Nothing Phone 2a / 2a plus or Moto edge 50 neo.

Clean OS is a plus point for all of these phones. Also, most other Moto phones have curved display, which is a con IMO.

What about redmi 14. He is using old redmi phone , I am thinking he will have smooth transition to new phone

Easy no. Xiaomi's UI & software update timeliness are the worst among major brands. Even if you ignore the software part, hardware is not the best for the price as well. NP 2a itself is not the most powerful phone for 22k or so, RN14's CPU is slightly worse than that.

If you think Nothing or Moto are small brands, just buy Samsung M55s rather than wasting money on poorly priced Xiaomi phones. M55s is inferior to my top picks but at least no complaints on software front & is a bigger brand.
