Hi Friends,

I am about to buy a laptop somewhere around Rs.60,000. I want this laptop for all around purpose primarily for gaming. So a good Graphics solution is a must. I have decided to buy one from the Dell XPS range. What would you suggest?

Secondly I am in a dillema to go for Windows 32 bit or 64 bit. One of my friends told me that he has Windows 64 bit and not many games and software are compatible with it. I also want to know that whether 64 bit games are costlier than their 32 bit counterparts. Also tell me any positives and negatives of 32 bit and 64 bit Windows.
Thanks in advance.

Dell XPS do not have a graphics card good enough for gaming.
Check HP 6165TX, Asus n55 for gaming solutions.

About Windows 32 bit and 64 bit, all 32 bit programs are compatile with 64 bit OS. It is not an issue. A 32bit OS, do not support more than 3.25GB RAM.

However, if you want to run any 16-bit s/w or games, it wont work on 64bit OS.

Also the current gen processors are 64 bit (correct me if I am wrong), hence a 32 bit OS will be a bottleneck and a 64 bit OS will have performance advantage over the 32 bit counterparts.

Finally, there is no such compatibility issues as mentioned by you. If you are going for a new system, get a 64bit OS.
