need info on a prob with mb slots

the ram slot is very close to the processor heatsink. i wanted to know if there can be any bad affect of this on the ram, till now i havent faced any such probs other than that one of my module went out(however it was already 2.3 years old), please see attached picture.

I don't think that should be causing any problem if you have enough Ventilation in the Cabinet.... Anyways, if you are using only one RAM Module, you could just changed it to the other slot....

Make sure that there are atleast two Fans in your Cabinet. One for Inlet and another for Outlet.

The heat generated by the processor is well dissipated by your processor fan. And if your cabinet is well ventilated then you won't have much problem but excessive heat may somtimes results into increase in latencies.
If you wanna put extra care with ur RAM modules then go for cooling solution for them. You can get some extra cooling from VANTEC. *www.vantecusa.com/product-cooling.html#
