We are in process of deciding to implement a suitable BI tool for analytics and reporting purposes. I have the following questions in this regard:
1. What are the factors we should consider while choosing the right tool as it seems that every tool is unique?
2. Possible contenders include Business Objects, Cognos, OBIEE and Hyperion. From my limited knowledge I have come to know that though all of these are reporting tools Business Objects and OBIEE are ROLAP based, whereas Cognos and Hyperion are MOLAP based. I also came across OBIEE Plus which includes features/capabilities of OBIEE along with MOLAP capabilities of Hyperion. So does this mean OBIEE Plus would be a safe bet? Also, and am I right to consider OBIEE Plus as a HOLAP based reporting too,
