Need a WiFi range extender. Budget - around 2k.

I'm using BSNL BB connection and my ADSL modem cum router is TP-Link W8961 hardware ver. 3
Its signal strength is too weak on the upper floor. The modem is kept on the first floor and I want the signal to reach second floor too. I tried shifting its location but that didn't help. So I'm in the market for a WiFi Range Extender. My budget is around 2k; 2.5k max.

Shortlisted models -

1. Netgear WN3000RP

2. TP-LINK TL-WA830RE

If there are any other models available then please suggest them.

TP-Link Range Extender: TL-WA850RE v/s TL-WA830RE

Hello everyone, and apologies for reviving quite an old thread.


I would like to know your opinions about the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal WiFi Range Extender. I am considering on purchasing a unit, as it is seemingly convenient compared to the TL-WA830RE.
