6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc). Android
7. Preferred connectivity options (3G, 4G ready). 4G
8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)? Chat apps (whatsapp etc), social apps (facebook etc.) and heavy camera use.
9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration? This query is for a friend of mine and I have no idea about good phones in this budget.

Get Zenfone Max Pro M2 if you can otherwise Max Pro M1 at 9/11k. I'd say Pro M2 at 13k is worth the extra 2k as you get a better camera & SoC (3GB RAM is still good enough & 32GB internal isn't an issue due to dedicated micro SD card slot).
