Hi guys, I am basically a hardcore Desktop user 
but I want to purchase a good performance Laptop ASAP 
. Reason is I had selected HP brand and HP holiday offer is ending in 4 days & I had to order any HP laptop online(snapdeal COD) hoping that they may deliver before 31st may.
I only seldom visit in Laptops and Netbooks section in TDF and I do not know some basic questions
as What is difference between Free DOS based, Ubuntu based laptops but as far as I can guess they do not have pre installed OS & any operating system(Win 7) can be installed to save bucks. So if I am wrong please guide me & suggest only DOS, Ubuntu or Win 7 laptop. I do not want Win 8.
I am already having a monster desktop (see my signature) so I do not need a laptop for gaming. The laptop will be for programming & casual entertainment purposes.
I am filling up the Questionnaire hoping the experts may help me
1) What is your budget?
35K-40K. Can be increased also but lesser the better.
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
Any but bigger the better
3) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eyeing for ?
Processor: 4th generation (i3 or i5) (Please don't suggest 3rd generation)
Clock Speed : 2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 Upto 3.1 GHz
System Memory: 4 GB DDR3
HDD Capacity: 500 GB
Operating System: Free DOS, Ubuntu or Win 7
Battery Cell: 6 cell or 4 cell
USB Port: Min one USB 3.0
Optionals:
1> SSD (I wish I could get SSD in my price range).
2> 2GB or 1GB graphics card (Although not needed).
3> DTS sound.
4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I would like to prefer the brand HP because the HP Holiday offer
If not then Lenevo, Asus, Dell, Acer.
5) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
I want a performance & durable laptop for running simulations & programming. Other than that it will be used for entertainment purpose surfing & watching movies.
6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Yes
7) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
No, laptop with gaming configuration not needed.
8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Maximum that is possible in my budget.
9) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
I would be OK with buying online, iff the reviews are good.
10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
Strictly Windows 7. So please suggest DOS based or Win 7 based laptops. If not possible I would purchase WIN 8 and the uninstall it to get Win 7. So purchasing Win 8 is a waste of money for me.
11) What screen resolution(s) would you prefer?
Any would suffice.
