Need a Gaming Laptop for around 1 lac

Right off the assembly line
1) What is your budget?
1lac +- 20k INR

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
  • Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
I would prefer it if it is not very bulky.
3) What primary tasks will you perform with this notebook?
I will be using it for software development and gaming. I want to play games like R6 Extraction, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, AC Valhalla at Mid-High settings at a good frame rate.

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for?
Was looking for an AMD CPU with RTX 3060 GPU.
I had a question if upgrading to 3070/RX 6800M devices which are more than 1.5lac worth it, assuming I would be gaming on weekends irregularly.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: I would prefer brands/models with better cooling.

6) Anything else you would like to say?
  • Looking for a QHD display with a 100+ Hz refresh rate
  • Type C port with an option for attaching to Dock for monitors if possible.
  • Purchase place Online or locally in Hyderabad.
  • Can wait a few months if some newer models are about to be released.
  • Would prefer a 1 TB SSD or at least a free expansion slot.

Not qhd but seriously grab this now. I have never seen this at such low price before.

The acer nitro5 qhd model is also 104k but it has a 95w gpu which would struggle to run that screen well on battery.
The 11th gen helios 300 with 11800h/ 3050ti is also qhd but the gpu is 85w. It sells for 105k.
The 3060 version is 119k on acer store.

The acer nitro5 and msi mid rangers might be the first laptops to come with 12th gen soon. So wait till jan end if you want the latest. We should have the info by then when in it likely to come here.

I was thinking, since you are in Hyderabad, why not visit the mvp store and see if you can get a custom pc built.
That is if you don't care about portability of the laptop.

I think QHD Acer Helios 300 with 3050Ti is in your budget, but 3050Ti's 4GB VRAM is a bottleneck already in many games.

My pick will be HP Omen at 105k as well, no need to spend more. RTX 3070 130W at 150k doesn't even provide like 30% fps boost over a 100W RTX 3060 of Omen, so IMO not a great value proposition.

Thanks for the info, HP omen looks like a very good proposition.

I had given up the idea of a PC. Have the prices of GPUs improved lately? Because last I heard 3060 was sold at 2.5x MRP. I don't like the idea of giving money to scalpers.

Thanks, looks like Omen is the way to go. Will not look at RTX 3070 models then.
